Steering Gear Installation and Commissioning of SHAURYA (YD 1222)

The Shaurya (Yard No. 1222) is an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) built by Goa Shipyard Ltd for strategic maritime operations. Designed with robust capabilities for coastal surveillance, maritime patrol, and interdiction, Shaurya plays a pivotal role in safeguarding territorial waters. The vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation systems, advanced communication networks, and a modern steering gear mechanism, ensuring precise maneuverability and operational efficiency. The Steering Gear Installation and Commissioning for Shaurya was undertaken under Work Order No. 701149 dated 03.11.2015. The project commenced on 17th November 2015 and reached successful completion on 12th August 2017. This vessel significantly enhances the naval fleet's capacity for long-range maritime patrol and national defense operations.
