Engineering Installation of SAYURALA (YD 1217)

The Sayurala (Yard No. 1217) is an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) built by Goa Shipyard Ltd for the Sri Lankan Navy. Designed for multi-role maritime operations, the vessel is equipped to carry out exclusive economic zone (EEZ) surveillance, anti-smuggling, anti-poaching, and search and rescue missions. With advanced navigation systems, communication equipment, and weaponry, Sayurala is capable of enhancing maritime security and safeguarding Sri Lanka’s territorial waters. The engineering installation for Sayurala was executed under Work Order No. 701114 dated 08.09.2015. The project commenced in September 2015 and was successfully completed on 22nd July 2017. This vessel represents a significant boost to Sri Lanka’s naval fleet, enhancing its operational capabilities in regional maritime security.
