Engineering Installation of SINDURALA (YD 1229)

The Sindurala (Yard No. 1229) is an advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) constructed by Goa Shipyard Ltd for the Sri Lankan Navy. Designed for a variety of maritime security operations, Sindurala is equipped to perform tasks such as coastal patrolling, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, and search and rescue missions. With modern surveillance systems, navigation aids, and communication equipment, the vessel significantly enhances Sri Lanka’s maritime enforcement capabilities. The engineering installation for Sindurala was carried out under Work Order No. 701601 A dated 29.05.2018. The project commenced on 26th December 2016 and was successfully completed on 22nd March 2018. The commissioning of Sindurala adds substantial strength to Sri Lanka’s efforts in safeguarding its maritime interests and promoting regional stability.
