Engineering installation for Tug vessels

The Tug vessels with Yard Numbers 1264, 1265, and 1266 were constructed by Goa Shipyard Ltd, and were equipped with complete Stern Gear (Shafting), Steering Gear, and associated engineering installations. These vessels play a crucial role in harbor support, towing, and auxiliary naval functions. The installation work for all three vessels was carried out under Work Orders 405299, 405300, and 405301, all dated 22-12-2023. The engineering work commenced on the same date and was completed across the vessels on 27th April and 30th April 2024 respectively. These tugs add to the operational support capability of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard fleets.
