About the Role
As an Assistant Mechanical Engineer, you will support senior engineers in the installation and commissioning of ship machinery and diesel generators, as well as assist in the alignment of propeller shafts, stern gears, and auxiliary equipment. Your responsibilities will include participating in repair and overhauling activities for marine engines, pumps, compressors, and related systems, conducting inspections, and performing basic troubleshooting under guidance. You will ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures, prepare and maintain work reports, technical documentation, and service records, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time while meeting quality standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding Engineering, or equivalent.
Diploma holders in Mechanical / Marine trades will also be considered.
Basic knowledge of ship construction, marine propulsion systems, and diesel generators.
Familiarity with tools, machinery installation, and alignment techniques.
Ability to read engineering drawings and follow technical instructions.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Willingness to work in on-site shipyard or industrial environments.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; training will be provided.
